There’s good reason to use other resellers for many visitors though, as their websites are usually more geared towards tourists from abroad than the SBB is. This goes for their offer of available products (e.g., it can be easier to get several travel products at once including European passes such as the Eurail Global Pass), as well as for payment options. SBB clients can run into problems with their credit cards, which is less common with other retailers.
Yes, there’s definitely a way to select Swiss Half Fare Card reduction at the HappyRail website: in the journey/ticket search bar, click the passenger icon (the grey head) at the right. The drop-down screen that appears allows you click “Discount cards” and select the Swiss Half Fare Card, as well as several other European discount options. It’s shortly explained at the HappyRail reseller information we provide at http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/switzerlandhalffare/price (“Tickets for Swiss Half Fare Card: click the passenger icon and edit the settings for each passenger. Select the Swiss Half Fare Card in the “discount cards” box.”). Hope this clarifies the mystery :-).
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts9 January 2020 at 7:04:39 #927666LOL. I never imagined anyone would be catching the 4:55am train. HappyRail reckon the first direct train is at 6:35am. Happy Travels.

After buying half fare card we’ve saved heads using either saver day pass at 29swf (for glacier express and bernina express) plus the ss tickets when we know we can make the train times without any trouble even with luggage. Much cheaper than euroflex which works about 60 swf per day compared to 29 sdp even allowing for 120 upfront for half fare card (we will be training on 9 days) averages at 13 swf per day plus we get the discounts on cog wheel and cables. SBB way to go IMO.
