Upgrade to first class on the GoldenPass Express

Short summary – read this first

I will be purchasing a 15 day Swiss travel pass in September. However, I would like to upgrade the Interlaken to Montreux segment first class with the assignment. How do you do this? I tried on the SBB app but it doesn’t let you change the date. And do I just select first class, or do you select second class and then it offers you the upgrade. Where do you select the seat? Or is it too early? Thank you

    Hi Mush,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

If you have a 2nd class Swiss Travel Pass and wish to travel 1st class on the GoldenPass train from Interlaken to Montreux, you can purchase a route specific seat upgrade or even a class upgrade for 1 day.

First, I recommend that you book your 1st class seats on the GoldenPass Express train, as explained here: https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/goldenpass/

Once you have your seat reservation, you need to book a seat upgrade through the SBB Mobile App. You can purchase a route-specific upgrade, which means the upgrade is only valid on the said route. Or you can buy a day upgrade which allows you to travel in 1st class for 1 day. More information about seat upgrades here: https://www.myswissalps.com/travel/train/classes/

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need more info.

    Regards,
    Anna
