Where to go wild camping in the Swiss Alps?
A traveler named Westside is planning a wild camping trip in the mountains of Switzerland this July. They need advice on where it's allowed to set up camp, especially looking for spots where they can catch sunrise views, and specific locations would be helpful. Westside is eager for tips and insights from experienced campers.
- Try wild camping in the Les Mosses area near Leysin, which is less touristy and offers beautiful scenery.
- Contact the tourist office in Les Mosses for more detailed camping spot recommendations.
- Always check local regulations before camping, as some areas like Zermatt have restrictions.

Good day
I just found this great forum. I am planning to go “wild” camping in the mountains in July. Since I don’t do this often, I have no idea where this is allowed and where not. I have seen, for example, that it is forbidden in Zermatt.
Does anyone have any tips where or on which mountains it is allowed? The region doesn’t really matter 🙂 The only thing that would be great is if you can see the sunrise in the morning and it shouldn’t be a campsite. It would also be great if you know specific places.
Best wishes and thank you very much for your tips! 😀
