Rail pass for 10 days skiing in Switzerland
A traveler is planning a 10-day ski trip in March, starting in Zurich and exploring the Jungfrau region, Zermatt, and Lake Geneva. They are seeking advice on whether to buy the Swiss Travel Pass or other rail passes for their itinerary and if they should adjust their schedule.
- Consider the Swiss Half Fare Card if many days are focused on skiing, as it could save you money.
- Staying an extra night in Zermatt is recommended for more skiing opportunities instead of Lake Geneva.
- Utilize the Swiss railways timetable to efficiently plan train trips, considering schedules and pricing.

Hello,
I am planning a trip to ski and explore for 10 days in March with the following itinerary:
Fly in Zurich – take train to Jungfrau region
4 nights in Grindelwald (skiing at least 2 locations in Jungfrau region)
1 Night in Zermatt
3 nights in Lake Geneva region (possibly Lausanne as home base)
Train back to Zurich airport
Is it worth it to get the unlimited Swiss rail pass for this itinerary? Or does the half or flex pass allow us to take advantage of those areas? Is another order recommended?
Thank you
