Hi Sam B,
Welcome to MySwissAlps.
You may want to look at Supersaver tickets, if they are available on your date of travel and the time you wish to travel. However, bear in mind these tickets are time and date specific, so if you miss the departure, you’d need to buy a new ticket.
More information on Supersaver tickets in the link below.
Saver Day Passes (https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/saver-day-pass/ ) can be advantageous but they would not allow you to travel all the way to Mt. Titlis. Travel would be covered all the way to Engelberg, after that you would need to pay for a full price ticket to the top.
With a Day Pass (https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/day-pass/) travel to Engelberg is fully covered, thereon you would be entitled to a 50% discount to the reach Mt. Titlis. But it’s only available to holders of the Swiss Half Fare Card.
If you have time, I recommend you also take a read of our Mt. Titlis guide, in particular the pricing section ” Discounted Titlis access with your rail passes”.
Given the little time you are in Switzerland, I don’t think it would make sense to invest in a Swiss Half Fare Card.
Kind regards,
Yolanda

Hello Sam B
Welcome to MySwissAlps
I hesitated before deciding to reply, because I have no solution to your problem. In all seriousness I would suggest you spend one of your days exploring the city of Zurich (https://www.myswissalps.com/town/zurich/), and the other exploring the canton of Zurich using ‘all zones’ Zurich Verkehersverbund tickets.
An all zones ticket would take you up two not very high local mountains, the Uetliberg and the Felsenegg. It would give you free travel on all public transport within the canton: buses, trams, boats and trains. Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall station is just within Zurich canton, so your all zones ticket would take you to see the Rhine Falls. (Rapperswil and Pfaffikon SZ at the eastern end of Lake Zurich are outside Zurich canton but are within the Verkehrsverbund area. But everywhere else the Verkehrsverbund area stops at the cantonal boundary.)
For the record, eligibility for a Swiss Travel Pass (https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/swiss-travel-pass/) depends on country of residence, not your nationality. You are obviously not resident in Switzerland. A three-day Adult STP costs 244 CHF, a youth STP is 172 CHF.
If on your holiday you are doing train travel in countries other than in Switzerland, consider Global Interrail Passes. (https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/eurail-global-pass/)
The two special deals you refer to are I THINK available to people resident outside Switzerland. But for the first one, two of the three of you need Half Fare Cards. For the other one, all three of you will need Half Fare Cards.
I am obviously hoping that other people will be able to help you
Best wishes
Roger

Dear Roger,
Thank you for your reply. It looks like, no good solution price wise. So, either to pay the full price or explore Zurich in the manner you have described.
Helpful, I am also hoping anyone else can give some insight. I am also considering a coach and Titlis tour via a travel company.
thank you for your time.
best

Dear Yolanda,
Thank you for your reply and time.
The day pass is only available to Swiss half- fare card holders. Please see below.
Must-knows about the Day Pass
- It offers unlimited traveling in Switzerland for one day.
- It’s only available for Swiss Half Fare Card holders.
- The Saver Day Pass is cheaper, but comes with restrictions.

Hello Sam
I have just researched Super Saver tickets Zurich to Titlis (https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/titlis/) for both 16th and 17th. There are currently some available for both days. But as you will not be buying Half Fare Cards the cost per person for the outward journey would be nearly 100 CHF per person; nearly 200 CHF for the return trip!
Kind Regards
Roger

Dear Roger,
Thank you very much. Yes, in Swiss – TIME MATTERS…
I see that point to point tickets on 16th were most reasonable.. about CHF £190 for 3 persons. But full price on mount Titlis.. So, maths is :
Titlis tickets x 3
Train – Zurich to Engelberg – Return CHF 187
Engelberg to Titlis – Return (includes the ice flyer) – CHF 114×3 = 342.00
CHFTotal : CHF 187+342 = CHF 529 or GBP – £480
This is same as taking a coach tour with an operator.
Any recommendations on a coach tour? Thank you again.
kind regards,
Sameer

Hello Sam
There is the suggestion that you use a ‘Day Pass’ to get to/from Engelberg. A second class Day Pass costs 78 CHF per person. However the English Language version of Swiss Federal Railways website clearly states, ‘To be able to benefit from a day pass, you need to be in possession of a Half Fare travelcard.’ As you know, a Half Fare Card is 120 CHF per person.
However hard we try, it looks as though a Trip to Titlis is going to be VERY expensive.
I would repeat the suggestions I made in my earliest reply, including my suggestion of Global Interrails. As a further suggestion get Saver Day Passes, and avoiding high mountain lines on which SDPs are not valid, just go joy riding around the fabulous Swiss public transport system. Buses, Trams, Lake Boats. and (of course) trains.
Kind regards
Roger

Thank you Roger,
This is definitely an option for us now. Unless I crack something or decide to pay up for Mt Titlis 🤔😢…
Cheers 🥂 and thanks again..
