    Hi,

Me and my husband will be traveling to Switzerland for the first time from US. We will be landing in Zurich. Below are the places we would like to cover in our 11 days trip starting May 27th. Please advise on scenic towns, apls and trains to take.

    Towns to visit:

    • Zurich
    • Luzern (Mt Pilatus, Mt Rigi, Mt Titlis)
    • Interlaken (Lake Tun, Lake Brienze, Juangfrua, Schiltron, Beautus caves )
    • Zermatt, (Glacier express to St Moritz)
    • Lugano, Bernine express (interested to visit local towns here eg: Chur)
    • Bern – If time permits

If you help us with the itinerary, which rail passes to purchase and if you could suggest any towns that we missed to enjoy the local culture.

    Thanks!

    Hi coolnfunky, welcome to MySwissAlps!

I would spend a few hours in Zurich after arrival and proceed to Lucerne the same day. Spend a few days there, take the Golden Pass line to Interlaken. Spend a few days there, go to Zermatt and take the Glacier Express to St. Moritz, then the Bernina Express train and bus to Lugano. You can visit Bern from either Lucerne or Interlaken as a day trip.

It’s quite a lot for 11 days. You may want to skip Zermatt and board the Glacier Express in Visp or Brig instead.

A Swiss Travel Pass suits your plans as you’ll be traveling a lot. You can print it at home so you save some time at the airport and can board your first train immediately instead of waiting for a ticket office. To print it, visit http://www.swissrailways.com/ en. After filling out your address, they will show the delivery options. Pick “Online Ticket” from the bottom of that list. They will e-mail the pass (no delivery fees) so you can print it at home. Be sure not to wait too long as it takes 1-3 business days to process orders.

We have some technical issues right now, so you can’t reply to this message immediately. Sorry for the inconvenience, we’re working on it!
