Advice, please...which travel pass to buy?

I think there are two options you should consider: either a Swiss Half Fare Card (providing a 50% discount throughout the country) or a Swiss Saver Flexi Pass. This allows free traveling on a number of days, to be used for your longest and most expensive day trips and for the transfers Zurich-Wengen v.v., and discounts on other days. If you know which day trips you'll be making, you can calculate which pass is most economical.

Can all of these options be purchased at any station...including the station at the Zurich airport?
