We will be arriving in Zurich on Tues 26 June (return 5 July) and traveling by rail to Wengen. While stationed in Wengen we will be making various day trips: rail, boat, bus, foot… and an excursion by rail to Zermatt (return same day).

    We will be two adults.

What do you recommend for us as the most economical travel bargain.

    Thank you.

Hello Bezalel, and welcome to MySwissalps.com. I think there are two options you should consider: either a Swiss Half Fare Card (providing a 50% discount throughout the country) or a Swiss Saver Flexi Pass. This allows free traveling on a number of days, to be used for your longest and most expensive day trips and for the transfers Zurich-Wengen v.v., and discounts on other days. If you know which day trips you’ll be making, you can calculate which pass is most economical.

Can all of these options be purchased at any station…including the station at the Zurich airport?

Zürich airport should work, but not just any Swiss station. Please click “show more information” for the “buy in Switzerland” option at any of the pass pages.
