    Hello again,

We have planned a day trip in chocolate train from Montreux on June 16th which is a Saturday. But I wasn’t aware that it operates only from Monday to Thursday in June. And our stay at Montreux is only from 15-18th of June. Is it anyway we can do cheese and chocolate factory trip these days? I mean by regular train?

    Thanks

    Binu

    Hi Binu,

Yes certainly you can. The cheese factory, La Maison du Gruyère is in Gruyères and nearby in Broc-Fabrique is the Maison Cailler chocolate factory. You can find the train schedules to visit on the Swiss railways timetable.

    Hello Lucas,

So, the chocolate factory and cheese factory are open all days? And, whether the entry covered in swiss pass? Moreover, what’s the major difference between going by chocolate train and regular train? After deboarding the train, the factory visiting part is same for both the train?

    Thanks

    Binu

    Hi Binu,

Both are open every day yes.

You can find opening hours on their websites: https://www.cailler.ch /en/maison-cailler/la-chocolaterie-suisse/ & https://www.lamaisondu gruyere.ch/visits-discoveries/the-cheese-factory/

Both are covered by the Swiss Travel Pass as well – see a list of museums covered by the pass here.

Thank you Lucas. Please help with some more information. Can we just walk in to these factories or prior reservation needed ?

No advance bookings are needed. Their websites note they just take bookings for groups of 10 or more.
It can be quite busy though in the summer so keep that in mind
