Will we be able to buy a Swiss half card card at Lugano, and then use it immediately to travel on the Gotthard Panorama Express to Luzern? Or do we need to purchase the half fare card online beforehand? Ta ,Chris

In addition to the information from Rockoyster, there is a discount using the Half Fare Card on the Gotthard Panorama Express, you can read about it here http://www.myswissalps.com/go tthardpanoramaexpress

You will need to buy tickets and also make a reservation. You need to have a valid Swiss Half Fare card before you board the train and show it to the conductor to validate your ticket fare: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isshalffarecard
