Glacier Express tickets clarification question

    Hi all. I’ve searched everywhere and can’t seem to find anything that clarifies the situation I’ve run into for Glacier Express seat reservations and tickets.

    I bought my seat reservations three months in advance of my Glacier Express trip as recommended. I received an email confirmation with the order number when I was done.

    I went back to buy my tickets recently (my trip is a month away) and the Glacier Express site added two seat reservations to my ticket order automatically … and I didn’t get the option to remove them.

    Given that, my question is … does my seat reservation secure my seats and I can simply buy/pay for the tickets when we arrive to depart? If not, is there another way/site to get tickets? Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Stuart,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

    Your seats on the Glacier Express is guaranteed once you received the confirmation email. You can buy the tickets at the station or online: http://www.myswissalps.com/glacierexpress/tickets

    If you have a railpass such as the Swiss Travel Pass, you can travel for free on the Glacier Express (no ticket required). A Saver Day Pass is also valid to travel on the Glacier Express.
