Hi,
I'll be traveling to Switzerland on 15th August 2013 and plan to avail the 'Golden pass line' from Interlaken to Lucerne on 17th August 2013. But when I tried to reserve my seats through http://www.goldenpass.ch, it's showing that all seats are booked. Is it possible to reserve or get the tickets in any other way?

Thanks a lot,
Debapriya

Hi Debapriya,

Which exact train did you plan to take? What time does it depart from Interlaken? What's your country of residence?

Thanks,
Arno

Hi Arno,

I wanted to catch the train no. 2217 from Interlaken Ost starting at 10.04am. My country of residence is Germany.

Best regards,
Debapriya

Hi Debapriya,

Thanks for the information. That train does not require seat reservations. It's possible to book a seat, but not necessary. In case of Germany I don't know of other ways to book a seat online, other then the site you already tried. If seats have run out there, it just means that there are no more seats available for online booking, but there will still be non-reserved seats. I would recommend to not book in advance, but if you want to you can arrange for it at a staffed station in Switzerland or call 0900 300 300 from within Switzerland.

By the way, there is maintenance work in progress between Hergiswil and Lucerne on August 15, so the last part of your trip will be by a special replacement bus (which is free for train travelers). All in all the trip will take a bit longer.

Hi Arno,
Thanks for the information. I'll be taking this trip on 17th August. Do you know whether even that day also this maintenance work will go on?

Thank you so much for your help and support,
Debapriya

Sorry I missed that. But yes, it's the same on August 17. The timetable shows all the details.
