How do I take advantage of a 20% discount being offered one on Golden Pass in Switzerland? How do I book if I am using my Swiss Pass that I won’t pick up until I arrive in May?

    Hi Joyce,

Links to the details of all seat reservation related promotions can be found here. In your case the promo can be found on raileurope.com. You just have to enter the coupon code mentioned there in the appropriate field while completing your booking. It does not matter whether you already have a Swiss Travel Pass or not. All that matters is that you have the pass and the reservation in hand when you board the train.

Are you planning to buy your pass in Switzerland? Buying it online can most probably save you a lot. You can buy the seat reservations and the pass together on raileurope.com. The pass price is currently the same as in Switzerland. The seat reservations are around $20 per person, minus $4 discount. There’s no shipping fee on orders from $399. If you only order the seat reservations, there will be a shipping fee.

Another option is to get your pass through http://www.raileurope-world.com for € 171 (in case of a 3-day pass, saving about $26 per person). They also offer the seat reservations. The reservations are not discounted, but you can get a discount on your whole order (see here and here).

Please see the Swiss Travel Pass page for all prices and promotions.

Note that seat reservations for Golden Pass trains are not required in most cases (see here). You can simply board with your Swiss Travel Pass. They’re only required for the leg Montreux to Zweisimmen, unless you travel in a large group.

    Does this help you out?
