Hi Imranahmed11 and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Yes, most companies aren’t selling passes for 2019 yet.

You can order the passes online here: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/price and they will be emailed to you within the hour so there is no rush. 🙂

    Hi Imranahmed11,

Indeed it makes sense to buy between 3 months and one week before your trip. If you take a look at the page Lucas linked to, you’ll find two retailers who already offer passes for 2019:

If you order well in advance they may not issue the actual pass until a few months before you travel, but at least you’ve already paid the 2018 price for it.

    Hi Arno

I read in your reply to Imranahmed11 that if we order 2019 Swiss Rail Passes in 2018 we’ll pay the current price. I just want to double check if that will be the case. Our family of four are planning a trip to Switzerland from mid- to end-June 2019. Any saving will be absolutely wonderful as we are from South Africa and the exchange rate is not on our side. . .

I would also just like to thank all you wonderful people at MySwissAlps.com for an AMAZING site. I’ve been using it from the first day I started planning our trip and so far all my queries have been answered by other people’s questions on the forum. It is also great that I can share links with the rest of the family to get them all excited about the beautiful places we’ll visit and the wonderful things (besides hiking) we are planning to do. Many years ago when my husband and I visited Switzerland we only had a Fodor’s Travel Guidebook to go by.

    Warmest greetings

    Hi Alta,

Welcome to MySwissAlps and thank you for your compliments! It’s not standard policy with all retailers that you can buy a pass for 2019 and pay the current price. Some don’t offer passes for 2019 yet, and some will charge the new prices when you buy for 2019. The two websites I mentioned do sell passes for 2019 for the current price, but the first one is for North-American travelers only as that’s where Imranahmed11 lives.

Our pages http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/price and http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/promotio ns allow you to keep an eye on prices and promotions offered by retailers that sell to your country. Whether it is a good idea to buy now or in the coming months is hard to say. Exchange rates may change and promotions may or may not be available next year.
