    Hello Friends,

I am planning to finalised my Swiss itineary but almost confused with what all to see (we are husband and wife with one Kid).

It is 3 night 4 day trip, Landing at Zurich and Flying out from Geneva.

    I have planned like :

Day 1: Reach Zurich and travel to interlaken (I will be staying here for all 4 days)

Afternoon visit Murren and come back

Day 2 : Go to Lucerene and then to Jungfrau , return to Lecerene and spend evening before back to interlaken

Day 3, : Visit to Mt Pilatus to Titlis ( not able to decide). Would also want to do ride in Glacier train

Day 4: To Geneva Through GPL.

Could you please suggest if this itneary looks good, should we include any thing else which I must have miss..

Should we take travel pass or half travel card

    Regards

    Sandy

Hi Sandy and welcome to MySwissAlps!

You’ll want to use the Swiss railways timetable to plan out your trips and see how the travel times are and if they work for you: https://www.myswissalp s.com/timetable

Day 2 really doesn’t make sense unfortunately. It is 2 hours to Luzern, then 2 hours back to Interlaken, then 2 hours to Jungfraujoch and then 4 hours to go back to Luzern in the evening?

You’ll want to just go to Jungfraujoch on this day I think (https://www.myswissalp s.com/jungfraujoch). Maybe do a boat trip on Lake Thun in the afternoon or evening if you choose: https://www.myswissalp s.com/boatlakethun

On Day 3 you could visit either mountain (Titlis or Pilatus) and then after go to Luzern before heading back to Interlaken that night.

    Hi Sandy!

I’m afraid you won’t be able to include the Glacier Express in your plans. It’s too far off from Lucerne/Interlaken where you’ll be staying: https://www.myswissalp s.com/glacierexpress/g ettingthere. It is possible to incorporate this trip (e.g.: day 3: Lucerne > Chur > Glacier Express to Zermatt, day 4: Zermatt > Geneva), but then you’d have to give up on other plans.

For maximum flexibility, the 4 day Swiss Travel Pass would be a good fit: https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass. The Swiss Half Fare Card may turn out to be a bit cheaper, but that depends on your finalized itinerary: https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisshalffarecar d. Jungfrau you need more than an afternoon. First to get up to the top and then enjoying the view up there. Jungfrau is easier from Interlaken then Luzern. Need a clear day for Jungfrau to really appreciate it. Took us a whole day.

Took us a whole Day on Mt Titlus just getting to it and viewing even though it was cloudy that day.

Thanks a lot for all the reply and suggestion. Since my Flight is from Geneva around 8:30 in evening. Can I do the Golden pass route and if yes which route I should follow to get maximum out of it and do please suggest.

Do I just stay in train or get down in between to explore something

    Hi Sandy,

Yes, the Golden Pass route won’t be an issue from Lucerne. Use the timetable to plan it out. Search Lucerne to Geneva via Interlaken Ost and Zweisimmen. It will be about 6.5 hours. https://www.myswissalp s.com/timetable

As the route ends in Montreux, I’d head down to the lake perhaps if the weather is good and you have some time before needing to get to the airport – but you might not have the time depending on when you leave Lucerne.

Thanks Lucas. The plan is to leave interlaken around 10 and then take the golden pass route in panoromic view train to reach Geneva Airport to board the 8:30 PM flight out.

Also Since I will be reaching interlaken from Zurich (Port of Entry) around 2 ( Plan to take the train from Zuric to interlaken via Luzern, heard it is the beautiful route but hour longer). Could you please suggest what would be the best way of spending the second half of the day. Wan to go to Murren and come back but not sure if it will be feasible.

Since I am travelling in mid August with my 3 year old boy. How cold will be the top of Jungfrouch and Mt. Pilatus, what gear I should have.

Thanks a lot in advance for all the responses and help.

    Hi Sandy,

You could visit Mürren at 2pm from Interlaken yes. It takes about 1 hour. use the timetable to plan it out for your date of travel: https://www.myswissalp s.com/timetable

There is a nice round-trip to Mürren described here you could do: https://www.myswissalp s.com/murren/travel

There are many nice things to do in Interlaken, if you’d like other ideas, noted here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/interlaken/activ ities

The mountain tops are probably between 2/3 degrees at the low end and 15 or so at the warmest. So I’d pack a few layers of clothes to wear as well as a decent wind or rain coat when you travel to the top.
