    Hi,

I was reading many posts regarding planning for places to visit in Switzerland and I have quick couple questions.

As the climate changes and what if the planed day for Jungfraujoch is snow day, do you still recommend to go up to Wengen just for taking pictures or should I look for alternatives? Can we have chance to change the reservation? Because when I try to buy tickets for Jungfrau its asking the date and what if I can’t make that day, are my tickets still valid for next day.

What is the best site to check the climate for up to date information?

My another question would be getting some CHF currency. Is it good to exchange before my trip or can I get better exchange rate in Switzerland?

How much currency do you think I should have minimum as I am planning to use my credit card the most if acceptable?

Just a small linguistic point. I take it you are referring to daily weather (climate has a different meaning – definition: the composite or generally prevailing weather conditions of a region throughout the year, averaged over a series of years.

    Hello Swisslover19,

I tend to say that experiencing snowFALL can be just as nice and unique as enjoying the scenery, depending if you’ve had this experience before. If you’re “new” to snow overall I wouldn’t bother too much about the weather, it will be a unique experience in any case. Only if strong winds are forecast I would recommend NOT going, as you might find the outdoor places closed for safety.

I use the MeteoSWISS App you can find in below link to get an idea of the weather on the Jungfraujoch:

It’s always recommendable to have some cash on you, the recommended amount can vary depending on your destination and also personal preferences, etc.

    Hi Steph,

Thanks for the reply. Can you please provide some details about the following question

Can we change the reservation that we made in advance in case of bad weather or some other reason and get seats reserved on another day. Because when I try to buy tickets for Jungfrau its asking for the date and what if I can’t make that day, are my tickets still valid for next day

    Hi Swisslover19,

If you made seat reservations then they are non-refundable.

I wouldn’t buy tickets until the day of (or at the earliest the day before) traveling up the mountains so you can be sure (more sure) of good weather.
