Hi,

My daughter and I will arriving Lucerne on 8th April at 12pm and will like to do the Mount Rigi trip and Mount Titlis trip on the 9th .

Are there trains / boats available on these days to these destinations.

What is the best timetable / itinerary for the above tours with regard to connections and making the best of the 2 days in Lucerne.

Yes trains and boats will be operating.

You can use the SBB Timetable (bit.ly/2HH1U7B) to plan your travel. If you are not familiar with using the timetable it will pay to first read the instructions on this page (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable).

A Saver Day Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/sa verdaypass and bit.ly/2rkekat) will cover the entire round trip to Rigi and the return train trip to Engelberg for Titlis.

Hi,

Got another question. I have bought the Swiss Travel Pass and was wondering if I can just board a train from Basel to Lucerne and sit anywhere or do I need to make a reservation at the ticket counter before I board the train.

And same with Lucerne to Interlaken to Spiez.

Hi Rosamond,

Just hop on the train (in a 1st or 2nd Class carriage depending on which class pass your have) and go. Reservations are extremely uncommon on Swiss trains. See http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/howtouse.
