I am planning a euro trip from india of which switzerland is a part of. I have around 2 days in switzerland. I would be entering Switzerland from Paris and then would go forward to Innsbruck. My current plan is to stay in Lucerne for both the nights. Now coming to my questions.

    1. I would be reaching Lucerne at around 12 noon. After lunch is it possible to go for Mt Pilatus tour on that day? If not, please suggest some itinerary for that day i arrive.

    2. Next day is the only full day i have in Switzerland. I am totally confused as to go for Mt Titlis tour or Jungfraujoch tour? I have got mixed reviews for both. I Know Jjungfrau is quiet far but if Its worth Than I am Willing To Do That Over Titlis.

    3. Should i book my tickets to Innsbruck from Lucerne or go to Zurich, have a half day tour there and then go to Innsbruck or Have a half day tour in lucerne itself? I want To Leave In AFternoon Or Evening Are Trains Available At That Time.

Also any other suggestion in itinerary is most welcome.

Hello Ankitaroy111 and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

    1. Yes, you can visit Mount Pilatus from Lucerne in a half a day, no problem.

    2. It is hard to say which mountain is nicer, this is a very individual experience.

One mayor difference of Mount Titlis and the Jungfraujoch are
    Titlis – cable car
    Jungfraujoch – cogwheeltrain

And as you say the Jungfraujoch is quite a bit further to reach.

You will also find guided tours from Lucerne to both destinations if this makes it easier for you, provided you don’t have so much time available:

To find out about travelling time with public transportation use out timetable link. It is a very helpful tool.

    3. For support of your arrival and departure look here. If you still have the energy I think it could be nice spending a few hours, half a day in Zurich. That’s up to you.

Thank you for the reply. Can you let me know over Titlis and Jungfraujoch which one is more commercialised like having more things to do at top. And do they offer almost similar view from jungfrau and titlis. Which one would be more crowded?

    Hi Ankitaroy111,

Both mountains offer a nice selection of activities on the peak. My personal opinion is that Mount Titlis is slightly more varied, but overall it is very hard to say. The journey is more adventurous to Mount Titlis. Both places can be very crowded at times, but don’t have to be!

    Dear Steph,

Since we are on this topic, from your personal experience, is Mid May a good month to visit Jungfraujoch Top of Europe? My family and I are planning to stay at Lauterbrunnen on 19/5 for two nights and we only have one full day to visit Top of Europe which will be 20/5. Heard that May s a wet month so am unsure if it’s worth going knowing that the tickets are very costly.

    Hi Maria

thank you very much for the advices and links. By the way, will there still be tickets available closer to my trip? Just afraid the tickets will be sold out.

    Regards
