    Hello everyone,

Even though the world has come to an almost standstill, corona will be defeated at some point and our website should be ready for future travelers. We’ve planned a rather large website update on August 27 and 28. MySwissAlps will either be offline or not fully functional during those days.

I will be posting back here when the work is completed. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience. Thanks for your patience!

    Hi Hudspith and other readers,

The first phase of the update has been completed. The work will continue during the coming days, so you may still see a glitch here and there. Feel free to post here if you run into an issue.

This is the biggest MySwissAlps update in 6 years. As usual, most changes are technical and behind the scenes. Here are the changes that are relevant for you as a website visitor:

    • The page design has been modernized. We didn’t change the page or site structure though, so everything is still in the same place.
    • The website should load quicker, particularly while you are logged off. Whether you actually notice this depends on your location, internet speed and browser type.
    • Links that are automatically added to the second post of most forum threads will now only be included in closed threads. Also, the text above those links has changed. This has been applied to all old threads as well.
    • Long forum threads have a link called “Jump to latest posts” at the top. It lets you jump to the last page without scrolling down first to click on the pagination links.
    • You can now attach images up to 20 Mb to forum posts (was 2.5 Mb). Images will automatically be resized.

Not directly related to this update:

  • The thread ‘MySwissAlps website update 27 & 28 August 2020’ is closed to new replies.
