Our trip to Switzerland in August

Dear friend,

We are planinng a trip to Switzerland(two persons)as follows:

-Arriving by Plane to Zürich on August 20,2015 at 4pm.

-Taking the train to Luzern where we are staying 2 days/nights

-Taking the Golden Pass Express to Interlaken,where to stay for 2 days/nights(Jungfrau included)

-Going to Montreux with Golden Pass Express

-In Montreux we want to stay 3 days/nights,including a visit to Broc by train.

-From Montreux ro Zermatt by train(which one?)

-In Zematt we want to spend 3 days/nights and see Matterhorn(one day) and Brig ,Simplon,Dormossola(another day).

-From Zermatt to St Moritz with the Glacier Express train(the Big day!)

-2days/nights in St.Moritz and then going to Tirano with Bernina Express.

-One night in Tirano and then to take the Trenord train to reach Milan Bergamo to catch the plane on Sept 2 ,2015 at 3pm

We intend to buy for each of us a Swiss Travel Pass for 15 days.

QUESTIONS:

1.Is the Swiss Travel Pass covering all Golden Pass Express,Glacier Express and Bernina Express,as per our programm?

2.Can we stop in one place,stay there2-3 days and taking again the Express train for the next destination?

3.How early have we buy the Swiss Travel Pass?(do we have to buy it on line or can we buy it when in Zurich and start to travel same day?

4.How early have we do the reservations for Glacier Express for panoramic view seats?

5.Can you recommend us a convenient train from Montrex to Zermatt ?

6.The train from Montrex to Broc goes further(and where?) or is Broc final destination?

7.Which useful informations/advises can you give us to have a pleasant trip and enjoy it as much as possible?

1. Yes, all routes are covered by the Swiss Travel Pass. Please check the validity overview for more information. Seat reservations have to be paid for additionally. You can find the appropriate information on our Golden Pass, Glacier Express and Bernina Express pages.

2. Yes, that's possible. If you make seat reservations, you'll have to do so for each separate leg of the journey.

3. Purchase options are listed here. In your case, you can best order it online through RailEurope World as that's cheaper than buying your pass in Switzerland.

4. You can make Glacier Express reservations starting from 90 days before the trip, so you can arrange this for your August trip within a one or two weeks. It's wise to do so well in advance, since August is high season and Glacier Express trains are quite popular.

5. You can find all connections by entering Montreux (mind the spelling) as your departure station and Zermatt as your arrival station in the timetable.

6. Broc-Fabrique is the final stop on the train line that leaves Montbovon. This too can be checked with the aid of the timetable.
