We have two days in Luzern at the beginning of June. One day we plan to do the Rigi & the other we planned either Pilatus or Stanserhorn. Would it be possible to do both Pilatus and Stanserhorn on the same day or is this too ambitious?

    Hi Ian Pooley,

Yes, combining excursions to Pilatus and Stanserhorn in one day is doable. I would plan a trip to Stanserhorn in the morning then do Pilatus later in the day, travelling directly from Stans to Alpnachstad and taking the cogwheel train up to Pilatus. If you prefer you can also do it in reverse. In any case, you can use the SBB timetable to plan your journey.

    Regards,

    Anna

Thanks, your suggestion is exactly what I was thinking. I think I can get a train from Stans to Alpnachstad, with a change at Hergiswil?

    Hi again,

Yes, that’s correct. You can take a train from Stans to Alpnachstad via Hergiswil. The journey takes about 20 mins.

    Regards,

    Anna
