Hi

We are 2 adults planning our dream trip to Zurich Switzerland from 26 October (afternoon) to 30 October. We are interested in visiting Zurich and Lucerne (Mt. Titlis) and snowy mountains. We haven't decided on any other locations / attractions yet. Very much appreciated if you could let us know the following.

1. Is it a good time to visit Switzerland as I have read many rides will be closed. Will there be snow on Mt Titlis during this time.

2. Is it worth buying a swiss pass

3. Please let us know more areas / tourist attractions which will fit our 4 days tour. We would like to see more sights than museums / chapels. Very much interseted to visit a chocolate factory and a cheese factory but don't want to spend much time travelling up and down. What is a good base for our stay

4. Is it worth travelling in Glacier express due to our short stay and is it free for the swiss pass?

Many Thanks

Tania

Hi Tania, welcome to MySwissAlps!

1. Low season has started by the end of October, so you indeed need to check opening hours. But there's still lots to do. The Mount Titlis cable car will be operational, and there will be snow on the top.

2. You first need a detailed itinerary. Then you can make an assumption, or an exact calculation, to see whether the Swiss Travel Pass (not Swiss Pass) is worth it.

3. Please see the Zurich and Lucerne pages for activity suggestions.

4. The ride is free but you do need to buy seat reservations. If you're going to stay in Lucerne it wouldn't make sense to do the Glacier Express, as it's an 8 hour ride in another part of the country. You could possibly do part of it, but it would be a very long day on train to do so from Lucerce.

I hope this gets you started!
