Hello,

Our first trip to Switzerland will be in September 2011 for 4 days. We are flying to and fro from Zurich Airport. We took a vacation home in Grindelwald and are planning to explore the Jungfrau region only.
We are planning to take
- Shilthorn cable car from Murren
- Train to Jungfraujoch from Grindelwald
- Staubbach Falls in the Lauterbrunnen valley
- Visit Interlaken

We are flying in the night on the first day to Zurich, will be staying for 2 days in Grindelwald and on the fourth day, we will be reaching Zurich and explore the place little bit before catching the flight again.

Since we are targeting only a small region for most of the trip, will it be economical to take Swiss card?
It has a to and fro free trip from Airport and I think the cable car to Shilthorn and mountain train to Jungfraujoch will be 50% Off correct?

Can you please advice if this is an economical pass for us..... We are six adults and one baby (8 months) travelling. Also, if it is the right card, do we need to get one of the six passes as a Family card to include the baby?

Are there any discounts on this card currently? I live in USA, my husband in Sweden and my family is coming from India. So, may be I can use any discounts if it applies to at least one of the countries :-)

Thanks so much in advance!!

Hi loveswiss,

Thanks for posting on our forum! Yes, I agree that the Swiss Card would be the best choice. You will indeed get a 50% discount on both the Schilthorn and the Jungfraujoch. You need 6 Swiss Cards. The baby travels along for free, even without a Swiss Family Card.

All prices and delivery options can be found on the Swiss Card page. It shows that ordering through Rail Europe US is the cheapest option. However, if you purchase through Rail Europe India and apply these promo codes, it's even a bit cheaper. But the price difference between those options is very small.

I hope this helps!

Hi Arno,

That helps a lot!!! I guess we'll get the Swiss card on the Rail Europe US website.

Thanks for your quick reply!! Really appreciate it!!!
