Hello,

I shall be visiting Switzerland (Interlaken and Lucerene areas) between 1st May to 5th May for holidays with my wife. I intend to buy the 4 days STP (Swiss Travel Pass) which enables me to get 50 % discount on the train to Jungfraujoch. However I do not wish to buy the train ticket for Jungfraujoch now (while purchasing STP) since I would like to buy it later (may be a day before the travel) when I am there in Interlaken area after checking how is the weather on top. Is this ok? and shall I still be eligible for 50 % discount (I understand that my STP pass should be valid on the day of travel to Jungfraujoch). Please advise.

Hello Ashul,

With the Swiss Travel Pass you can reach Grindelwald or Wengen for free. From either of those locations the trip to Junfraujoch is discounted 25%. The full-fare pricelist is at bit.ly/2J5H92u.

You can buy your ticket on the day when you consider the weather to be favourable. You are wise not to buy the Jungfraujoch ticket in advance. You can check out local conditions at bit.ly/2GmILXS and there is a link to webcams at the top of the screen.

Hi Ashul,

You don’t need to buy the ticket to the Jungfraujoch together with the Swiss Travel Pass. You can simply buy the reduced fare ticket (for STP holders), either online upon arrival or at the ticketing counter once you’re there.
