Using Swiss Travel Pass Flex from Bern to Milan
A traveler is planning a trip to Switzerland and Italy and needs advice about the Swiss Travel Pass Flex. They asked if they can get mountain discounts in Zermatt on non-valid days and how to travel from Bern to Milan, specifically regarding tickets and train stops.
- The Swiss Travel Pass Flex only offers discounts on nominated days, so plan accordingly for mountain visits.
- For the journey from Bern to Milan, you can buy the ticket for the Italian segment on either the SBB or Trenitalia website, and you typically do not need to change trains at Chiasso.

I have a trip to Switzerland and Italy and I have some questions about the Swiss Travel Pass Flex
1 – Will the Swiss Travel Pass Flex give me discounts in the mountains of Zermatt even if it’s not valide that day?
2 – How does work the trip from Bern to Milan with Swiss Pass? I know I’ll be covered up to the border in Chiasso, and I have to buy a ticket from Chiasso to Milan. Do I buy this ticket onTrenitalia or SBB website? Do I have to get off the train in Chiasso?
Thanks
