    Hi All,

    1) I have read that with Swiss travel pass, one has to pay only pass holder fares for Zurich to Paris Travel on Lyria trains. What is this pass holder fare and how to get it on online apps like Omio.com and trainline.com?

    2) what is Junior card? I am traveling from India, Am I eligible to get it for my 6 year old kid?

    thanks in advance!

    Hi Ashish,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps!

    1) Passholder fare is a cheaper ticket because you only pay for the portion of the trip that is not covered by your pass. In practise it means that you need to be able to select “Swiss Travel Pass” on the website you buy your ticket from, so it can offer you the cheaper ticket. This option is often not available. The easier way is to simply buy a ticket for the portion that is not covered, which is Basel to Paris in your case. You board the train as normal in Zurich, because Zurich to Basel is covered by the Swiss Travel Pass. Please find tickets here: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/france/price. You’ll find pass purchase options here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/price.

    2) Please find the Junior Travelcard explained here: http://www.myswissalps.com/juniortravelcard. You don’t need to buy it though. You will get the free Swiss Family Card for your child if you buy a Swiss Travel Pass: http://www.myswissalps.com/swissfamilycard.

    Hi Ashish,

That’s right. If you have a Swiss Travel Pass and a valid ticket from Basel to Paris, you can take a direct train from Zurich and remain seated all the way to Paris.

    Regards,

    Anna
