    HiAll,
I have been trying to figure out which pass option will work better for my tripand still confused. We (2 people) willbe in Switzerland for 4 days in late May. Staying in Lugano for 3 days and thena train toZurick on the 7th day. My iteneary is a follows:

Day 1 Zurich airport – Lazern – Engelberg, Mt. Titlis- Luzern
Day 2 Lazern – Interlaken – Lauterbrunnen (seep in Lauterbrunnen)
Day 3 Lauterbrunnen – Bern – Lazern (otional) or Lauterbrunnen- Luzern
Day 4 Lazern – Lugano (lake boat, funicular to the Mountain)
Day 5 Lake Como (sleep in Lugano?)
Day 6 Lake Maggiore (sleep in Lugano?)
Day 7 Lugano – Zurich airport

Is taking advantage of 2 for 1 Swiss Pass, or flexi pass, or ½ off card better? If I chose a 4 day Swiss Pass, the last leg Lugano to Zurich is not covered.
Please help with the best travel pass option and also isthis a duable itinerary?
Thank you all in advance, PK

Hi PK! If you plan to travel in May, the 2 for 1 offer on the 4 day Swiss Saver Flexi Plass would definitely be your best choice. You should use free travel days for day 1 (transfer Zurich Airport-Lucerne), day 2 or 3, day 4 and day 7. A 50% discount will be granted on the remaining days.

Your itinerary is doable, but you could make some changes on day 1, 2, 3 and 4 to prevent unnecessary traveling and book hotel rooms for consecutive nights. For example: travel from Zurich Airport to Lauterbrunnen rightaway on day 1, get back to Lucerne on day 2 and make your trip to Engelberg, and other plans you may have in this region, from Lucerne. Then travel onto Lugano on day 4.

The timetable will provide details on each of your trips.

    Annika,
Thank you very much for the reply and the suggestions.
You are right it does make sense to go to Lauterbrunnen right a way. Where do you think it makes sense to saty in Interlaken or Lauterbrunen for one night? Also considering not doing Zurich to Luzern leg, what legs makes sence to use free days?

Hello PK. Both Interlaken (which is located centrally) and Lauterbrunnen (which is located in a beautiful scenic valley) are wonderful. This topic lists pros and cons of both towns.

You should use free travel days for your longest and most expensive transfers. The timetable will show traveling times, and thus tell you which of your travel plans are long and expensive. Free travel days should be used for day 1 and day 7 anyway, as the validity of the Swiss Flexi Pass starts with the first free travel day and ends with the last.
