Unable to decide when to go. Can someone please help decide?

Last week of May+First week of June OR Sept 1-15??

Here is the itinerary:

Luzern: 3 nights – Pilatus/Rigi/Stanserhorn/Titlis – any 2 as time and weather permit

Wengen and surroundings: 6 nights. Grindelwald First and Bachalapsee, Schilthorn and Murren to Gimmelwald Walk, Mannlichen to Kleine Scheidegg Walk, Lake Brienz/Brienzer Rothorn/Iseltwald, Eiger Trail, Schynige Platte – again as time and weather permit

Zermatt: 3 nights – Kleine Matterhorn, Gornergrat, Sunegga – again as time and weather permit

Bern: 1 night

Zurich: 1 night

When will we see good flow in waterfalls, colorful flora and fauna?

What will be open and what will be closed?

Both a June trip or September are pleasant times of the year to visit Switzerland. If one could choose, September would be typically better, as it is after the summer holidays and most of the summer crowds have left. You could also start to enjoy some of the autumnal colours if you are hiking.

Based on your plans most of your sights you have mentioned should be accessible for both June and September. Ones that could affect you are:

The Titlis Ice Flyer’s summer timetable is not available yet but is typically running from May till September. https://www.myswissalps.com/titlis/gettingthere

Brienzer Rothorn. The cable car from Sörenberg to Brienzer Rothorn normally operates from early June to mid-October as well. But it’s closed in this summer due to revision work for a new cable car. https://www.myswissalps.com/brienzerrothorn/gettingthere

The Eiger trail is generally accessible from mid-June depending on the weather. It’s best to check with the local tourist office for confirmation of the trail, in case it is closed due to adverse weather.

If you are planning to visit in June and wanted to travel on the Riffelberg Express, operation dates are from July 1st.to August 20th. https://www.myswissalps.com/gornergrat/gettingthere

Trains to Schynige Platte only operate from July 1st to October 22nd this year. https://www.myswissalps.com/schynigeplatte/gettingthere

Here are a few of the popular waterfalls that could be of interest to you:
– Giessbach falls, near Lake Brienz
– the Reichenbach falls at Meiringen
– Trümmelbach falls and Staubbach falls, near Lauterbrunnen

In general waterfalls are more impressive in June than in September (by September most of the melting water will have gone down from the mountains and there’s not much left).
