How to travel to the Titlis

The Titlis can be reached by cable car from Engelberg. Engelberg can be reached by car or by train. It's a 10-minute walk from the rail station to the Titlis valley station. You can also use free shuttle buses between the train station and the cable car valley station.

The cable car

First you take the gondola 'TITLIS Xpress' from the valley station to Stand. It passes the mid-station Trübsee, but you can stay seated there. In Stand, you switch to a cable car to the top of the Titlis. This cable car is called 'Rotair' and has a revolving cabine for 360° views. The entire ride to the top takes little more than 20 minutes.

Dates of operation

Opening dates differ per section:

  • You can reach Trübsee all year round.
  • The cable car to the top of the Titlis operates all year rond, except for a few weeks in November.
  • The Ice Flyer operates from 1 October 2022 to 7 May 2023, with the exception of 9 January to 10 February 2023. The 2023 summer timetable hasn't been released yet, but the lift will probably operate from late May to mid-September.
