I am considering purchasing a TELL PASS but find the map too hard to understand. Will the TELL PASS benefit us in Interlaken & specifically on the Lake Brienz cruise. I also would like the link for the cruise boats for Lake Brienz. Am I correct that the TELL PASS can be used on the train to Interlaken and also to Brienz? We will only be in the Lucerne and Interlaken area.

Hello BevAnn and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

The Tell Pass will get you to Interlaken via Brienz but is no help when you get there. It does not cover Lake Brienz cruises (goo.gl/3gsZBg).

    Hi BevAnn,

We have a web page on the Tell Pass here, that shows how to buy and what areas the Tell Pass covers around Switzerland that may be helpful. There is a winter and summer version of the pass depending on your travel dates.

This is of no help to me…. The site just keeps going round and round.. It does not show what is covers…that same confusing map. My

SwissAlps only wants to sell passes. It does not provide anymore information then is necessary.

    Hi BevAnn,

Sorry if our website is confusing – we try to be as clear and helpful as possible.

If you click my link above for the Tell Pass and then click the “Where it’s Valid” tab you’ll get a PDF map that you can open and see the routes that are covered by the Tell Pass. We also list major attractions (lakes/mountains) that are covered by the Tell Pass.

You can find this information on all rail passes that we list on our rail pass page as well – in case you want to compare other passes.

Lucas, I think the problem is BevAnn started off by telling us she was having trouble interpreting the map not that she couldn’t find it.

I believe this is the “official” Tellpass website, it has lots of info plus a PDF of what’s included! http://www.tellpass.ch/en/sum mer/

    Hi BevAnn,

That map is the “official” map for the Tell-Pass, as provided by the transport companies. You’ll find the same PDF on the site that Debra mentioned actually. I can see how it is not overly clear at first glance, but it’s the only map there is unfortunately. I just uploaded a new version with a slightly clearer legend I think: http://www.myswissalps.com/te llpass/validity. The trains from Lucerne to Brienz and Interlaken are included. The Lake Brienz boats are not included. More about those can be found here: http://www.myswissalps.com/bo atlakebrienz.

I can assure you that we are working very hard to answer questions here, even on a Sunday, and for free. We do not sell passes, or anything else. It’s just information and links here.

I hope this helps you out. If not, just let us know!

I really like the interactive map on the tellpass.ch/en it has blue dots that when you click on them tells you about the attraction there, covered by the pass, with photos. Nice! The PDF I was referring to wasn’t the map but a listing of individual cable cars and other transportation that’s included in the pass, but it’s a bit cumbersome to pick through if you don’t exactly know what you’re looking for. http://www.tellpass.ch/__/fro ntend/handler/document /42/157/Streckennetzpa rtner_Network%202018.p df

Thanks, maybe I just need to go back and try using that site again.

I see Debra, thanks. Our PDF file now combines the map and the listing of individual transport and discounts, so it’s all in one document. The interactive map is a nice one indeed (no transport routes though).

    Happy travels!

    Hi Arno,

Pages 2 and 3 on your new validity map appear blank in Safari on iPad. OK in Safari and Chrome on Mac but when PDF downloaded and opened in Preview it sends Preview a little crazy and have to Force Quit. Strange goings on. Just saying. 🤓

    Hi Rockoyster,

Thank you for letting us know. Sorry about that. I’m afraid I can’t fix this particular problem. Page 2 and 3 are images and should theoretically be the simplest ones to process.

No need to apologise Arno. It’ll be fixed in iOS 12.1.3

These things are so tricky; it can really be caused by several things. Glad to hear it will be fixed by Apple.

Wanna take bets it’s not fixed in 12.1.3? 🤓
