DaMuthaParticipant2 posts15 April 2023 at 6:34:06 #950102Just bought mine. Is it bad that I’m super pumped for my trip now, even though it’s in 2 months?
ArnoModerator15484 posts15 April 2023 at 6:42:16 #950103That’s part of the fun DaMutha 🙂 Enjoy your preparation and your trip!
HakilpaddyParticipant2 posts15 April 2023 at 6:44:50 #950104Hi. Will this offer be extended to klook? Or I only can get from Swiss travel centre?
ArnoModerator15484 posts15 April 2023 at 7:29:41 #950105Hi Hakilpaddy,
Welcome to MySwissAlps! Yes, Klook will offer this soon too but their offer isn’t available just yet. Please keep an eye on this page: https://www.klook.com/activity/11366-swiss-travel-rail-pass/.
Also I will update my original post once Klook offers the promotion. The promotion will also be listed here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/promotions.
ArnoModerator15484 posts16 April 2023 at 6:06:50 #950106Klook is offering the promotion as well now: https://www.klook.com/activity/11366-swiss-travel-rail-pass/
ArnoldParticipant1 post16 April 2023 at 7:34:11 #950107Thanks for the promotion info. Need your advice.
If I buy the 8-day 2nd class Swiss Travel Pass, can I buy 1st class upgrade tickets for the Bernina Express train (Tirano to Chur) at the Tirano train station the day before departure when we arrive on Jun 26? I already bought 1st class seat reservation for Jun 27, 8:06 a.m. departure.
Not much time if purchasing upgrade tickets, same day of departure since train leaves Tirano 8:06 a.m. & if they open 8 a.m. Also, online upgrade purchase is not an option I think.
Do you know if the 1st class ticket upgrade price with a Swiss 2nd class Travel Pass is = (1st class price – 2nd class prices)/2?
thanks
Arnold
HakilpaddyParticipant2 posts16 April 2023 at 11:12:11 #950108Thanks a lot
YolandaModerator2373 posts16 April 2023 at 14:28:21 #950109Hello Arnold,
That’s great you have secured a 1st class reservation on the Bernina Express. Correct, you will now need upgrade your ‘ticket’ to travel before you board. Given your schedule, probably best you organise the upgrade the day before, at the ticket counter at the rail station. The cost will be half of the difference between the 2nd and 1st class fare for the route you wish to travel. You can also pay for your class upgrade via the smartphone app or at a ticket machine (as well as the rail station ticket counter)
More about upgrading can be found here:
Kind regards,
Yolanda
chavaParticipant9 posts16 April 2023 at 18:09:10 #950110I understand that the flex pass has a sale now till May 14th but if I only need a regular 15 day pass for August should I wait to purchase or will this type of pass go on sale also? Thank you.
We have used the flex pass and regular pass in the past and LOVE traveling this way in Switzerland.
YolandaModerator2373 posts16 April 2023 at 18:39:44 #950111Hello chava,
The current promotion is for the regular Swiss Travel Pass only (for the 4 day or 8 day passes only, whereby consecutive days travel are carried out). The Swiss Travel Pass Flex is not holding a promotion.
Kind regards,
Yolanda
chavaParticipant9 posts16 April 2023 at 19:36:34 #950112I would like to get 2 15 day passes for Aug. Should I purchase now or wait? Do they offer sales on this type of ticket? Thank you
MarinellaParticipant3 posts17 April 2023 at 4:13:19 #950113Hi! I tried purchasing the pass and it said “a supplement for delivery may apply”. May I ask what will be delivered? I thought everything will be done online?
Also, there are 5 of us travelling ( my husband and kids) , when we buy tickets , will be have to individually do it on our phones or can just 1 person buy for all of us?
Thanks for your help!
ArnoModerator15484 posts17 April 2023 at 5:15:51 #950114Hi Chava,
While you can’t ever be 100% sure, I personally think it’s very unlikely that another Swiss Travel Pass promotion will be on sale in the coming 5-6 months. Having said that, you can either buy now if you want to get this done, but you can also wait until a week before your trip or so, and then check this page for offers: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/price.
New promotions will be posted here in the forum.
ArnoModerator15484 posts17 April 2023 at 5:20:19 #950115Hi Marinella,
I suppose you’re referring to https://shop.switzerlandtravelcentre.com/#/en/product/swissPass, right? The delivery supplement only applies to physical products. I you click the link you’ll see that they’ll charge CHF 0 for Print@home passes, so that’s all fine.
You can buy everything in one go. The passes are separate PDF files, so you can keep them on one phone, or everyone can have it on their own phone.
Enjoy the rides!
Vipuljain07Participant5 posts17 April 2023 at 18:44:31 #950116Hi! I am planning to buy a Swiss Travel Pass for 10 days (8+2) but I still need one more day of pass for traveling within Zurich. Which pass should I buy or should I even buy a pass?
VentsislavParticipant75 posts17 April 2023 at 19:10:02 #950117Hello,
all you need is a Zurich Card – 27 CHF for 24 hours. This is their website: http://www.zuerich.com/en/zurichcard
