First of all, a big thanks to myswissalps.com. The information posted here have given me a lot of helpful tips during my visit in Switzerland. My travel in Switzerland has been a wonderful one, an unforgettable one with my wife.

Day 1 (7-Dec-2016): Reached Zurich, with EasyJet from London. We traveled to Zurich old town, and got a chance to immerse ourselves in the Christmas atmosphere with the Christmas market held at the Zurich HB. The Swarovski Christmas tree is an impressive decoration placed at the main hall. Weather was cold (~2C), we walked around the town and get ourselves the first time trial on hot wine. Great!

Day 2 (8-Dec-2016): Started the usage of Swiss Travel Pass. We went to the Rhine Fall. The none-stop water flow and splashing wash away all the tense. Spending about an hour there, then, we embarked to the Lucerne. Lucerne is a peaceful small town, with very charming view. There, we had our dinner (Cheese Fondue, and Swiss Chicken Wings) at Zunfthaus Pfister restaurant. Surprisingly, the chicken wings was an impressive one.

Day 3 (9-Dec-2016): Travel to the Titlis. Weather was nice and managed to get a clear view on all peaks. Amazed by the nature. At night, we travel to Bern. In Bern, it was -3C. We arrived late, but, we managed to get ourselves to walk around the old town, with the free tram service by hotel.

Day 4 (10-Dec-2016): Visited the Schilthorn. Another sunny day, and managed to view all peaks from the top. Eiger, Monach, Jungfrau, and …. Birg is another station that amused me a lot (both thrill walk and skyline walk). We relaxed and enjoyed the view in the restaurant in Birg. At night, we went back Bern, enjoy our dinner in Santa Lucia Restaurant in Bern. Just can’t forget the yummy Santa Lucia pizza!

Day 5 (11-Dec-2016): Went to Geneva, since we need to travel to Venice. It was so happen that the people in the city was celebrating the L’Escalade festival. We started our walk from Monument, take the small board across the lake, enjoyed our view the big fountain in the lake, and touched down at Old Town. We saw parades with people wearing traditional cloths, performing various show. We also understand better about the Swiss after talking with some people around. Amused by the show (band played traditional music, army gun shot performance, horse riding, and some old lifestyle demo that gives us better understanding about the Swiss culture). It happened at around the Old town, so, the day was really a special one! At about 5pm, we then went to the airport for our next journey.

In summary, the trip is a very memorable trip and I have a real great impression to Switzerland. The weather was nice, and we were able to enjoy all activities with in Titlis and Schilthorn. We were also amazed by the time accuracy via train traveling and bus travel in Bern. We will never forget about the green field, blue sky, white mountain, nice view of lakes and waterfalls and .. you named it. Switzerland, WE will be back!

Hi pwiliiam28!

Thanks a lot for getting back to us with such a positive trip report! We're happy to hear MySwissAlps has been useful for you. You seem to have gotten a great first impression of Switzerland during a rather short stay. You managed to visit quite some highlights, and it's great that you were lucky enough to enjoy both Titlis and Schilthorn in clear weather! Views up there are amazing indeed. Good that you've also been able to explore some cities, and what a nice coincidence that you bumped into the festival in Geneva!

Yes, the Swiss Travel Pass is ideal. Many tourists indeed are pleasantly surprised by the way Swiss public transportation works. Just to make sure: public transportation in Bern is for free with the Swiss Travel Pass anyway, but indeed, hotels in Bern offer their guests Bern Tickets for free usage of urban buses and trams. That's probably what you've been using; your Swiss Travel Pass would have been sufficient as well.

Good to hear you'll be returning to Switzerland. Please feel free to ask for assistance once you start planning!
