Rail pass for 7 days Zermatt & Jungfrau region

Short summary – read this first

A traveler is planning a family trip to Switzerland with two adults and two kids aged 12 and 14. They will arrive at Zurich Airport and head straight to Zermatt for three days before traveling to Chur, considering the Glacier Express scenic route. They also plan day trips to Jungfraujoch and want advice on the best Swiss Travel Pass options for their itinerary.

Key takeaways:
  • The Glacier Express is not available on December 15, so check regular train options instead for scenic views.
  • The Swiss Travel Pass Flex offers discounts on mountain trips in Zermatt and Jungfraujoch, making it a good choice for your travels.
  • You can get a Swiss Family Card for your children to travel free if you have a Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card.
  • Consider using the downloadable spreadsheet to help decide which rail pass fits your itinerary best.

    Dear all
I am travelling with my family 2 adults and 2 kids age 12 and 14. Our itinerary is arrival Zurich Airport staright to Zermatt.(maybe on SBB) Stay there for 3 days and leave on the 15th from Zermatt to Chur thinking of covering the scenic route of Glasier express but heard need to change train at a town or not required? Same day after reaching Chur straight back to Zurich for 3 days departing to London on the 19th. From 15th to 18th maybe a day trip to Jungfraujoch. When in Zuruch town, perhaps Tram only we use. Please advice should we take the Swiss pass Flex or Swiss pass Half price as we know kids are free when 1 adult is having a swiss pass or similar. When in Zermatt, does the Swiss pass gives any free ride on ski lifts or discounted rate? Any help is very much appreciated. God bless
