Hi

We are a group of 14 people (6 elderly and 2 children age 6 and 11). We will travel in Switzerland mostly by private bus. Below are public transports we plan to use. Would you advice which pass/ticket type best suit our group please, and What to get for the children? Many thanks.

28/4/2016 - a short boat trip in Lake Lucerne

29/4/2016 - Train from Lauterbrunnen to Jungfraujoch return

30/4/2016 - Cable car and train from Lauterbrunnel to Murren one way, and cable car and bus from Murren to Gimmelwald and Lauterbrunnen one way.

1/5/2016 - train from Zermatt to Gornergrat return

Hi kprasert, thanks for joining us!

Swiss Half Fare Cards for the adults would be the best option. They provide a 50% discount on the trips you plan to make. You can order along the free Swiss Family Card, allowing the children to travel for free on all routes. It's explained at www.myswissalps.com/sw isshalffarecard/price. Purchase options are listed there as well. I'd recommend to order through www.swissrailways.com/ en, as you can get print at home passes there without any additional shipping or booking fees. Just select the amount of passes required, the required start date and select "Online ticket" when asked for delivery options.

Does that help you out?

Yes, thanks Annika. Will I be able to use the half-fare price on top of 20% discount for 10 or more people group booking?

Hi kprasert!

No, that's not how it works. You can either get regular tickets with a 20% group discount, or use the 50% discount offered by the Swiss Half Fare Card. Looking at your plans I surely think the Swiss Half Fare Card is the more economical option.
