Hello there,

We are a couple who are going to trek from Eiger to Matterhorn via lauteebrunnen , Mürren, griesalp, kandersteg, leukerbad, zermatt in July :) . Have been wanting to do this for a long time.

We were wonderingtwondering what is the possibility to wild camping along the route...I can see some camping spots around grindelwald and lauteebrunnen , but that's about it.

We can not afford hotels in Switzerlandr for sure, last I knew camping about the tree line for a night was allowed right?

Thank you in advance.

With regards to the camping, you are right, camping ABOVE the tree line is allowed, see details below:

Hope this answers your question. Otherwise get back to us anytime for more input.

Hi BadTrip,

I hope that you are well.

My wife and I were thinking to take a similar route in August, without going to Zermatt and Matterhorn. Did you come across some specific information about where you can wild camping in the municipalities that you have mentioned?

If you would have liked we can also exchange information.

Kind regards,

CrazyCamper
