Hi Jiayinnn24,
Personally I’d take the risk, as I don’t think railway officials would want start a discussion about which gender you really are. Quite a sensitive topic these days. Having said that, officially all information on the pass must match the passport.

Thank you so much for the reply! Decided to take the risk.
Any idea if I can make amendments after the starting date of the Swiss travel pass/ at the train station itself?

Hoi Jiayinn24,
Normally you can’t adjust anything once you’ve purchased the pass. I order to do so, you should contact your retailer and find out if they can change anything. Quite often, the only option would be to cancel your pass (for which a cancellation fee will apply, as you’ve already found out) and buy a new one.

Arno,
I would rank this as one of the all-time best responses I have read on this forum! 😎

All true. However, just as “nothing is simple,” also, nothing is perfect.
I wonder if it would be worth mentioning that holder of a second class Swiss Travel Pass can purchase (at the station, or, in the past (at least) , could do so on the train) an upgrade to first class for a particular journey or segment of a journey.
