About this trail

This easy route crosses forests and grasslands. It offers great views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains. The trail runs parallel to the narrow gauge railway between Grütschalp and Mürren. If desired, you can get on the train at Winteregg, halfway on the route.

How to reach Grütschalp

Grütschalp can be reached by cable car from the train station of Lauterbrunnen.

How to travel back from Mürren

From Mürren, you can travel back by taking the cable car at the other end of the village down to Stechelberg and take a bus to Lauterbrunnen from there. You can take the cable car up to the Schilthorn to enjoy the view of the entire region, before going back down.

Alternatively, you take the small train back to Grütschalp and the cable car down to Lauterbrunnen.
