The surrounding landscape consists of meadows with chalets. The part between Burglauenen and Schwendi is nearly flat and runs through a forest, parallel to the river Schwarze Lütschine.

After Schwendi you will have to make a short climb, followed by a descent through quiet roads along grasslands and chalets. On your way to Grindelwald, you will have views of the Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, Eiger, the Oberer Grindelwald glacier and Schynige Platte.
