About the trail
The hike starts off with a 182 m (600 ft) climb through a narrow asphalt road, running along the cog railway between Interlaken and Grindelwald. The surrounding landscape consists of meadows with chalets. The part between Burglauenen and Schwendi is nearly flat and runs through a forest, parallel to the river Schwarze Lütschine.
After Schwendi you will have to make a short climb, followed by a descent through quiet roads along grasslands and chalets. On your way to Grindelwald, you will have views of the Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, Eiger, the Oberer Grindelwald glacier and Schynige Platte.
