Hi I am travelling with my wife and 2 kids (aged 25 and 18). Will be staying 5 nights at Interlaken and 2 nights at Lucerne. I intend to take the 8 days Swiss Travel Pass. Which is the best way to get that done. Also would appreciate if someone could suggest if the following itinerary is doable.

Reach Interlaken on 12 June by 4pm. Stay from 12 June to 17 June. Visit Harder Klum in the evening

13 June – full day trip to Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn

14 June – Glacier 3000/Chateau de Chillon and Montreux. Is it possible to go and visit Chaplin’s World also

15 June – Geneva – some suggestions on what can be done

16 June Zermatt and Matterhorn. Can I also visit Gornergrat

17 June Leave from Interlaken to Lucerne and then visit Berne. Any suggestions for Berne and Lucerne

    2 nights stay at Lucerne

    18 June Titlis and Lucerne

19 June Leave in the morning for the Airport to Zurich to catch my flight.

    Thank you.

    Juzer

    Hi Juzer, welcome to MySwissAlps!

You can best buy your Swiss Travel Passes online. This saves time after arrival and, since you’ll receive a printable e-ticket, ensures you of a digital copy in case your passes get lost or damaged. The adults should buy regular Swiss Travel Passes. Both children can get discounted Youth versions. Please find further information and retailers at myswissalps.com/swisst ravelpass/price.

Most of your itinerary looks doable, but some days are a bit too full in my opinion. I suggest you use the timetable to plan each trip: myswissalps.com/timeta ble. Jungfraujoch (https://www.myswissalp s.com/jungfraujoch) and Schilthorn (https://www.myswissalp s.com/schilthorn) can be done in one day, if you leave early. You could use this route: Grindelwald-Kleine Scheidegg-Jungfraujoch-Kleine Scheidegg-Wengen-Lauterbrunnen-Mürren-Stechelberg.

Your plans for June 14th are ambitious. The trip to Glacier 3000 (http://www.myswissalps.com/glacier3000) takes 2h40 to 3h00. After your stay up there, you’ll have to travel another 1h30 to 2h30 (depending on your connection) to Montreux, and additional 20 to 30 minutes to Chateau de Chillon. Also consider your return trip to Interlaken. It’s doable if you don’t mind a long day, but I wouldn’t include another location such as Chaplin’s World. It might be nice alternative in case weather isn’t good enough for Glacier 3000 though.

You can’t actually visit the Matterhorn itself, but you may be referring to Klein Matterhorn: myswissalps.com/kleinm atterhorn . Again, it can be combined with Gornergrat (myswissalps.com/gorner grat), but it will result in yet another long travel day from Interlaken.

I hope this helps you to further shape your plans!

Thank you very much for your prompt response. I too realised that glacier 3000 and montreux is quite ambitious. Mostly will drop glacier 3000. Can you suggest any plan for Geneva.

Hi Juzer! I think it’s wise to dismiss some of your plans. Your days will become more enjoyable that way. As for Geneva: did you check the link I provided in my first post? You’ll find several tips for sightseeing in and around town . If you can’t find what you’re looking for there, just let us know!
