We have a 2 week trip to Switzerland end of August begining of Sept 2021 and will be staying in Interlaken .

We are driving from the uk to Switzerland and will not be using the car every day but hoping to get on buses and the boats and using mountain cable cars .

Which travel pass would be better for us ? We ill not be travelling very far on the buses or trains etc .

But will be going up Schilthorn, niederhorn etc , St Beatus Caves and places like that

Thanking you in advance for any advice or replies

    Regards

    Jayne xx

    Hi Jayne,

Happy New Year and welcome to MySwissAlps.

You can find practical tips about combining car and train here: http://www.myswissalps.com/carversustrain

As you may be well aware, some destinations are not accessible by car and it is still worth getting a railpass to cover short trips by train, boats, mountain railways and/or cable cars. Generally we would recommend getting a Swiss Half Fare Card. You’ll find more details here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisshalffarecard

Also, depending on your itinerary, you might want to consider one of the regional passes if you plan to travel extensively in just one region. In your case, the Regional Pass Bernese Oberland may be a good option: http://www.myswissalps.com/regionalpassberneseoberland

    Hope that gets you started.

    Regards,

    Anna
