Hello Satisheric, and welcome to My Swiss Alps!

Sorry to disappoint you, but the next departure of the Brienz – Brienzer Rothorn cogwheel train is scheduled for June 1st 2019. Keep in mind that February will be winter in Switzerland. Expect snow.

On Day 3, the rail trip Lucern – Interlaken lasts 1 hr and 49 minutes.

On Day 5 I’m not sure what you have in mind. Wander around the village of Lauterbrunnen during two hours (in snow, with little or no sunshine): I would not spend two hours for that. On the other hand, to go from Interlaken to Jungfraujoch takes two hours one way. You may want to stay there during two hours before going back (2 hours again), so you need 6 hours, not counting the leasurly walk through Grindelwald.

All the same, you should have an enjoyable trip!

Hi Sathisheric and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Indeed be prepared for cold winter weather. 🙂 Have a read here about weather in Switzerland: http://www.myswissalps.com/we ather // http://www.myswissalps.com/be sttimetovisit

As well as Brienzer Rothorn, Harder Kulm will not be open either (both close for the winter).
You could look at Schilthorn or First mountain instead: http://www.myswissalps.com/sc hilthorn (both in the Jungfrau region).

Be sure to use the Swiss railways timetable to plan your trips out each day: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable and I’d suggest looking at a rail pass, like the Swiss Travel Pass to save money on your travel: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass

    Hi Sathisheric,

We don’t create itineraries here, but can provide feedback on yours if you post it here. You have a good start, you just need to be mindful of any mountain closures as we noted before (though most are open for skiing).

All mountains we list have details on opening and closing dates if applicable. And be sure to use the timetable to ensure you aren’t planning too much travel each day.

    Hi Sathisheric,

Those plans are perfectly doable in February. On day 3, instead of the default quickest route suggested by the timetable, you can take a bit slower but more scenic route like this: train from Zermatt to Brig, then switch to the regional train via Kandersteg to Spiez. Then change trains for Interlaken.

For things to do in and around Interlaken and Lucerne, please see:

To check what’s included in the Swiss Travel Pass, please see http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity.
