    Hi. Had a great holiday last year to Lugano/Jungfrau/lucerne/steim with great support from this group. Looking for help again. Can you review plans and provide guidance, recommendations etc

    Scope – Two children 9/13 – two adults. Love swimming/cable cars/ 2 hour walks/ Large ball marble runs/Marmots/ quick sightseeing 2 hours max

    * Flying to Milan on 12/08. – Staying over two nights in Lugano – Lido/Monte Bre/Ferry

    * Then planning on staying in Valle verzasca for 2 nights. – swimming in river/marble runs/walks???

    *Moving onto zermat region (tasch?? ) for three nights – Matterhorn/ zermatt area ???

    * Flying back to Milan

    I think all can be covered by rail under a rail pass scheme. For the matterhorn is the PeaktoPeak pass the best option. Any recommendations and changes to route/plan are gratefully received.

    Hello Bicky,

    Happy to hear you had a great trip last year and that you found MySwissAlps of benefit.

    Trying to decide on a rail pass can be confusing with all the options available. Best thing to do is carry out some maths using our “how to choose a rail pass” link:

    Depending on your rail pass, the children could travel for free under the Swiss Family Card: https://www.myswissalps.com/swissfamilycard

    Activity ideas for Lugano and the Ticino area can be found here:

    and for Zermatt:

    Yes, the ‘Peak2Peak’ ticket is great for a combined ride to Klein Matterhorn and Gornergrat within 1 day. More information here:

    Your plans sound good, it’s nice to base yourselves a few nights here and there so you can explore at a steady pace.

    I hope the above helps get you started.

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda
