One-way car rental from Interlaken to France?
Hello! A traveler is heading to Switzerland for a week with siblings, flying into Zurich and visiting Lucerne and Interlaken. They need to know if renting a car is faster than taking a train to Bourg St. Maurice due to a time constraint for their brother's work commitments.
- Consider taking the train instead of renting a car to save money and avoid high one-way rental fees.
- You can use your Swiss Travel Pass Flex for part of your journey to Geneva, and you can purchase tickets for Geneva to Bourg St. Maurice at Interlaken station without any issues.
- If you prefer renting a car, consider picking it up in Geneva after traveling by train.

Hello!
I will be travelling to Switzerland with my siblings in the coming week. We are flying in via Zurich, then visiting Lucerne and Interlaken first.
On the 16th, my brother has to be in Bourg St Maurice by 2pm for work-related activities. Given that the trains take about 8 hours, we were hoping for a faster alternative such as car rental instead.
Could someone advise if this (car rental) is the best and fastest option? If so, are there any rental companies that allow car pick-up in Interlaken ans car drop-off in Bourg St. Maurice?
Would really appreciate any advice, thank you!!!
