Glacier Express – which side is left on seat map?

Short summary – read this first

Kevin is planning a scenic trip on the Glacier Express from Interlaken in September, specifically between Brig and Chur. He needs help with seat reservations and is unsure about which side of the train is the left side on the booking map. He's looking for advice on whether this longer journey is suitable, especially considering he will be traveling with his mom.

Key takeaways:
  • Reserve your seats early for the Glacier Express and choose the left side for the best views on the Andermatt-Chur leg.
  • The Swiss Travel Pass covers the RegioExpress Lötschberger train, and seat reservations are not mandatory.
  • Don’t hesitate to hop off at Andermatt for a more varied experience, like heading to Luzern by boat.

    Thanks for the tip!

I did a search and the results with and without “via Kandersteg” was only half an hour or so – between Speiz and Brig.

Ah right… if i search from Spiez to Milano Centrale – with and without Kandersteg – the difference is 1 hr.
