Hiking circuit – Zermatt, Stellisee, Riffelsee
A traveler named Tamasin is planning a day hike starting from Zermatt that includes several cable cars and summits. They are concerned about the feasibility and potential costs of their ambitious route and are looking for advice on whether it's possible to complete it in one day.
- Be cautious as your planned route may be too ambitious for one day.
- Use reliable hiking resources like Schweizmobil or Zermatt's official website for accurate information on lifts and trails.
- If you have a Swiss Travel Pass, you can get discounts on the cable car tickets, making your trip more affordable.
-
Can this be done in a day, and will it be ridiculously expensive or hard to organize? Are some of these lifts closed during Summer? I see them on google maps, but not sure it’ll be possible!
-Circuit starting from Zermatt > up Patrullarve cable car to see Stellisee (lake) (might be able to summit Unterrothorn, Oberrothorn?) > along Gant Hohtalli cable car to Hohtalli > summit Stockhorn? Hike down to Gornergrat > Hike to Riffelsee > Take train back down to Zermatt.
Please excuse my ignorance – last minute planning!! Thank you!
