Most people hike from Schynige Platte to First (or the other way) via Faulhorn then continue down to Grindelwald. To continue to Glecksteinhütte, you probably will have to follow the trail from First to Grosse Scheidegg before making the ascent to the Gleckstein Hut. As far as I know there is no direct trail from Glecksteinhütte to Berghaus Bäregg (but I could be wrong). One option is to hike back down and continue on the trail to the Wetterhorn Hotel and Bergrestaurant Pfingstegg. From here, it’s just a couple of hours hike to the Berghaus Baregg. The you can hike down to Grindelwald, take the cog train to Kleine Scheidegg and walk down to Wengen. It’s a long hike but should be doable in 3 days.
The attached map should give you some ideas about the trail between Grosse Scheidegg and Berghaus Baregg.

I strongly recommend Tour of the Jungfrau Region by Kev Reynolds. It lays out the routes you are interested in, provides maps, descriptions of trails and hiking times, elevation gains, information about the huts and more. The maps are basic but provide a good start. (It’s available on Amazon as a small, plastic bound-paperback or on Kindle.) Sounds like a great trip!

I think your original plan to spend the first night at Faulhorn has a lot of merit. The views at Berghaus are spectacular and you would have the chance to see the sunset and sunrise from there. A great opportunity. Much more scenic than overnight in Grindelwald. Faulhorn is roughly 2/3 the way from Schynige Platte to First and will be a fairly easy descent down to First.
Also I would strongly recommend when leaving SP to take the Panaramaweg trail instead of the trail down the middle of the plateau. The Panaramaweg will be to the left along a ridge line with spectacular views on both sides( see attached photos). It only adds maybe 30 minutes to the hike but is well worth it. Perhaps the most scenic trail in the Jungfrau area.

Hey Mark! thank you for the suggestions. Will it be easy/obvious to find the Panaramaweg trail?
Also, I was originally planning to hike from Faulhorn to Glecksteinhutte in one day but I am wondering if it would be too long of a day and might be worth to spend a night in Grosse scheidegg in between?
The Panaramaweg trail will be to your far left as you leave the train station. We cut through the hotel on the left of the station and there were Panaramaweg signs directing you even further left. I believe the default trail and signs to Faulhorn and First will take you the shortest route down the center of the plateau. But both trails merge at Laucherhorn and continue on to First. Panaramaweg is well worth the extra 30 minutes.

Sorry but I don’t have any personal experience with that particular hike. Grosse Scheidegg is as far as I’ve gone.
