Short summary – read this first

A traveler named Nicole is planning a hiking trip to the Swiss Alps from June 3-6, focusing on the Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Murren, or Interlaken regions. Hello Nicole,

We were in Berner Oberland (https://www.myswissalps.com/region/bernese-oberland/) in early May several years ago.  We were able to hike around Gimmelwald, Murren, Harder Kulm even that early without snow impacting the trails.  There were patches of snow on the sides but trails were clear.  It was glorious!  We will be staying in Lauterbrunnen (https://www.myswissalps.com/town/lauterbrunnen/) the same week as you in June.  Hope to be able to hike several days as we are there a week; our 3rd trip to the area.  We love it there!  See a couple of pics from that trip.

    Enjoy!  Kathy

    Hi Nichole,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

That’s great to hear that you are planning a trip to the Jungfrau region for some hiking.  Some helpful replies from pvonk and Ironflower.  I’d also check in with the local tourist offices too when you are there so they can confirm which trails are definitely open for hiking 🙂

I suspect the below two should be accessible when you are here:

More information on the Jungfrau region in the attached link:  https://www.myswissalps.com/region/jungfrau-region/

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda

Yolanda, thanks for all of the info! This will be very helpful in planning my trip. Are the tourist info places easy to find in the area?
