How to get from London to Switzerland
A couple planning a trip from Argentina to Switzerland arrives in London on October 9th and wants to take the Glacier and Gotthard Express trains before October 14th. They’re looking for advice on the best route to travel from London and how to make sure they don't miss these panoramic trains.
- Travel from London to Paris, then to Zurich, and finally to Chur to catch the Glacier Express to Zermatt on October 11th.
- Plan to take the Gotthard Panorama Express from Luzern to Lugano on October 13th.
- Check route maps and timetables for Glacier and Gotthard Express to ensure your travel plans are well-timed.
- Look for regional trains that may provide similar panoramic views in case of schedule issues.

Hi, first of all I want to thank this forum for giving us all the information we need to plan our trip to Switzerland. We’ ve already got the tickets from Argentina to London for October. But as we want to go to Switzerland and enjoy the panoramic trains, we’ll really appreciate if you can help us to plan the way of going right there from London with enough time to take the Glacier and the Gotthard Express before they stop working in October 14th. We’ll arrive London by October 9th. What city of Switzerland can we first travel to so as to take the Glacier express and then the Gotthard Express?? (or the other way round, the sooner the better…). We don’t want to lose the opportunity to travel by those panoramic trains. Of course we also want to take the Bernina and the Golden Express, but as far as we know, we can take them after October 14th. Our trip would continue from Switzerland to Venice. So any suggestions on how to do it would be great!
