Kleine Scheidegg-Interlaken with Swiss Travel Pass

Short summary – read this first

A traveler is planning a day trip to the Jungfrau region and wants to know if the train journey from Kleine Scheidegg to Interlaken Ost is covered by the Swiss Travel Pass. They also mention taking a train to Grindelwald to enjoy views of the Eiger.

Key takeaways:
  • The Swiss Travel Pass does not fully cover the journey from Wengen/Grindelwald to Kleine Scheidegg; you will need a ticket with a 50% discount.
  • To better understand what is covered by the Swiss Travel Pass, check the coverage map, noting that dotted lines indicate sections requiring a discounted ticket.

From what I see, the part of the journey is not fully covered by the STP. It seems that the journey between Wengen/Grindelwald to Kleine Scheidegg would require a ticket with a 50% discount under the STP.

Moderators, please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you.

    Hello anshu66,

Per Irenicis’ reply – thank you Irenicis. That’s correct, you will need to purchase a ticket, which will be discounted with your Swiss Travel Pass.

Do take a look at the coverage map for the Swiss Travel Pass so you can familiarise yourself to see what is included and what is not. The dotted/broken lines you see, will require a ticket (discounteded) to be purchased.

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda
