Hi,

I am looking at visiting Jungfraujoch for just a day. I will be stopping in Chur, Lucerne and Montreux. It looks as if it is better to make the trip while in Lucerne. Is that correct?  What is my best and fastest way to accomplish this?

First read my reply 2 to your thread entitled Luzern to Interlaken Ost: construction in late November 2025.  Also note moderator Anna’s reply.

Of your three resorts, only Lucerne (called  Luzern in German) is relatively close to the Jungfraujoch.

I have keyed into the Swiss electronic timetable a pretend journey from Luzern to Jungfraujoch leaving Luzern at 08 00 on Tuesday November 25th

It is telling me to go as follows.

08 06 Luzern-Interlaken express to Meiiringen, arriving there at 09 16.

09 21 rail replacement bus non-stop Meiringen to Interlaken Ost, arrive there 09 53.

10 04 R61 train to Grindelwald TERMINAL, arrive there 10 33.

Cable Car at 10 43 from Grindelwald Terminal to Eigergletscher arrive 11 03

11 15 train from Eigergletscher to Jungfraujoch, arrive 11 41.

Return Journey

I have keyed into the Swiss electronic timetable a pretend return journey from Jungfraujoch to Luzern at 16 00.

I catch the 16 17 train from Jungfraujoch, and changing at Eigerergletscher, Grindelwald Terminal, Interlaken Ost and Meiringen I get back to Luzern at 19 55.

(At Interlaken Ost I will make sure that I get the 18 04 NON-STOP bus to Meiringen.)
