Official websites for booking the Swiss scenic, panoramic trains?

Short summary – read this first

Wig Para is planning to book scenic train trips in Switzerland and feels confused about the various booking sites available. They are particularly looking for the official booking sites for the Bernina Express, Golden Pass, Interlaken Express, and Glacier Express. It's essential for them to find reliable options to secure their trips.

Key takeaways:
  • For scenic train reservations, you can purchase tickets from the operator websites, travel agencies, or various online platforms; they typically offer similar products with slight price differences.
  • The official site for the Bernina Express is RhB, but for the Glacier Express, it is operated by both RhB and MGB, with no single site being more 'official' than the others.
  • Check MySwissAlps for a list of trusted websites for booking panoramic trains in Switzerland.

    Hi:
I am a bit confused that there are several different booking sites for the scenic trains, even on this website. It looks like you cannot book it through SBB like the regular trains.
Looks like Rhh, is the official site for Bernina Express?
What are the official booking sites for Golden Pass entire route or the Interlaken express and the Glacier express?
I am also armed with the alternate regional options which Roger, Yolanda, others and your website has listed in detail.

    Thanks

    Wig Para

    Hi Wig Para,

Seat reservations and train passes/tickets too, are basically just like plane tickets: you can buy them from the operator, travel agencies, several online platforms, etc. They all sell the same product, sometimes at slightly different prices and terms.

The MySwissAlps panoramic train pages list trusted websites that we know well, as well as the websites of the operators: https://www.myswissalps.com/activities/trips/

Indeed RhB operates the Bernina Express. The Glacier Express, for example, is operated by two rail companies, RhB and MGB, and I don’t think any of those is “more official” than the other. All websites we link to are trusted, safe, and sell the same thing.

    Enjoy your trips!
